FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
WHEN WILL I FEEL BETTER?
Your recovery rate will depend on several variables including:
what the problem is
how long you have had it and whether or not it is a recurrent injury
the degree of damage to affected tissues
the type of tissues affected e.g. muscles or ligaments
how many areas are affected
how compliant you are with prescribed exercises and following general advice
whether or not you are able to rest if necessary e.g. taking time off work or sport
your age
All patients are different and heal at different rates. Our aim is to ease/eliminate your pain as quickly as possible. This is often achieved earlier on and with fewer treatments if patients follow our advice and modify their activities accordingly to prevent further damage.
HOW OFTEN DO I NEED TREATMENT?
The number of treatments a patient will require depends on several factors (see above). Our clinical experience will help to identify these factors as we treat and assess your response to treatment. We will then be able to give you an idea of how much treatment you will need and how close together the sessions will need to be at various stages. Many of our patients opt to have occasional maintenance and preventative treatment once a month or once every few months. We can give you information on the benefits of regular treatment and advise on the regularity of your sessions, however, it is always up to you to decide how long you have treatment for.
Patients are never asked to pre pay or sign up for payment plans
DO WE PRESCRIBE DRUGS?
We are not trained to prescribe drugs and often find that pain can be eased and managed using hot and cold treatment gels and sprays. If we find that pain cannot be eased we will liaise with your doctor or consultant as appropriate. |
